The night was as ordinary as could be. No weirdness, no loud rackets, noting out of the norm at all, that is of course until the message was sent. All across the metaverse in locations large and small, populated and remote, tiny portals began to open to another dimension. Out of each of the portals came a single arrow with a note attached.
"To all the worthy beings of the metaverse, this is a letter of congratulations for your worthiness to join "The Game". If you are reading this letter then that means your race has been chosen to gain entry into this great event. Untold riches await those who are able to beat "The game". However only one contestant is allowed through each portal so choose your representative wisely. They must be strong, intelligent, and able to work alongside others if there is any hope of victory. Do you have what it takes to beat "The Game"? Once your contestant has been chosen have them walk through the portal where the rest of the rules will be explained.

The arrows slipped silently through the portals and stuck to whatever they touched, windows, trees, the ground, waiting patiently until the next day when they would be discovered.
